LabVIEW Fundamentals
LabVIEW is a graphical development environment with the performance and flexibility of a programming language, with high-level functionality and configuration utilities designed specifically for test and measurement applications. Engineers create LabVIEW programs called VIs (Virtual Instruments) of which there are two parts: The front panel and block diagram (see Fig. 1.) The front panel is the user interface that contains a variety of inputs such as knobs, switches, and buttons, with the inputs called controls. The front panel also displays output data in the form of graphs, LEDs and meters, called indicators.
